hamster, aquariumOur family has always had pets. We love all animals; when the children were small, we started them off with a hamster. They learned all about responsiblity and caring for small pets. Somehow, that little hamster always seemed to get out of his cage and the whole family would spend hours searching for his hiding place.
     When they got a little older, we decided to look for a new pet. We just loved the Parrots and Cockatiels but finally bought a parakeet. His name was Felix. We spent hours talking to him and he spoke so well and in the voice of the one who talked to him. First thing in the morning when the cover came off his cage, he said "good morning mommy, I love you." What a great way to start the day.
     The kids are grown and have their own families and pets now. My husband and I  decided to buy an aquarium. We have spent many hours looking for just the right colored fish. It has been a great activity for our retirement. We bought all of the aquarium accessories online at a great price.
