My co-worker had a pet hamster for her son and would tell us how much fun her son would have playing and watching his hamster’s antics. It was the perfect personal pet for him and he had no problem taking care of his hamster. Unfortunately, as time went on, his hamster was getting older and he passed on. My co-worker said her son was so sad and they had a funeral service for the hamster outside in their yard. After about a month, her son was ready to have another hamster to take care of. Their household already had two dogs and some bunnies, but he loved the hamsters just as much. He missed watching and playing with the hamster in his room, although he must have been a sound sleeper when the hamster was on his wheel. With another hamster in their household, her son is his happy self again. All our pets become such a part of our family and having any type of animal in the household from fish aquarium’s to reptiles is good for our well-being.
