When I was growing up, I always wanted to keep parrots, but my mom was seriously afraid of birds. The first thing that I did when I moved from home for the first time was buy two parrots. My hamster Speedy lives in a very diverse world. His best friend is a reptile named Asslyn. Speedy's house is attached to Asslyn's aquarium via a clear plastic tube. If you have kids, odds are they want a pet. You could consider a Hamster or Parrots, but I would recommend starting out with an aquarium. Aquariums are great for children to own, since they help them to learn responsibility. When your child owns an aquarium, they must clean the tank, feed the fish, and keep the water clean.
